Renting doesn't mean living in a space that feels temporary. The trick is to furnish the room, not the walls.
01Freestanding does the work
Everything that makes a rental feel like yours can be freestanding: a proper sofa, real lamps, a rug, considered objects. None of it needs a drill, and all of it comes with you.
02Light over fixtures
You can't easily change the ceiling fitting, but you can retire it. Floor and table lamps transform a rental more than any landlord upgrade — and they leave when you do.
The trick is to furnish the room, not the walls.
03Objects make it yours
A rental becomes a home at the level of the object: what sits on the shelf, the surface, the sideboard. That layer is entirely portable, and entirely you.
